Located in the center of the South Orange Community, at the beginning of the Irvington Avenue Corridor, Weekday students explore the neighborhood in which they live. The children visit the Fire Department and the Post Office to learn about the community helpers and their jobs. They enjoy shopping for a class fish at the local Pet Store, and seeing the other animals and how to care for them. The South Orange Library always has something new for their monthly visits. Shopping for cooking ingredients and snacks is fun at the supermarket. The children also enjoy counting 100 pennies and then exchanging them at the bank for dollar bills to buy pizza, as well as taking a trip to another park on the train. A favorite is going to see a show at SOPAC, like Jungle Book or The Hungry Caterpillar. The local parks provide so much fun and exploration any month of the year!
